Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Verve Reality, LLC ("Verve," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information in the Verve iOS app and on ververeality.com. The app is covered first, then the website.
The Verve app
Verve shows limited-time offers from local businesses on a map. You walk to the business, collect the offer when you arrive, and show it to staff to redeem in person.
You don't need an account
Verve has no sign-up and no password. We never ask for your email address, phone number, or real name. The first time you open the app it creates an anonymous identifier on your device so your collected offers stay yours. That identifier is not connected to your name or to any contact information.
You can optionally set a display name in your Wallet. It is entirely your choice, it can be anything, and it only labels your own profile.
Location in the app
Verve needs your location to work — the whole point is showing what is near you and confirming you are actually at a business when you collect an offer.
- Only while you are using the app. We do not track your location in the background.
- We do not store your location. The check that decides whether you are close enough to collect happens on your phone. Only the result — that you collected a particular offer — is sent to us. We keep no record of where you have been.
- Mapbox receives your location in order to draw the map and calculate walking directions when you ask for a route. See Mapbox's privacy policy.
- Mapbox also collects de-identified location and usage data through its mapping software. You can opt out inside the app: tap the information button on the map and choose the telemetry option.
What the app stores
- Offers you collect and redeem — which offer, which business, and when. This is what fills your Wallet and lets staff confirm a redemption at the counter.
- Offers you view — which offer you looked at, when, and whether you found it on the map or in Discover. Businesses see aggregate counts from this, for example "42 people viewed this offer." Businesses never see individual users.
- A notification token — if you allow notifications, we store the token iOS gives us so we can send reminders, such as a streak that is about to expire. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time.
- Your optional display name.
All of the above is linked to your anonymous identifier, not to your identity.
What the app does not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we show no ads.
- We do not collect your contacts, photos, health data, or payment information. Verve has no in-app purchases and never handles your payment details.
- We do not use your camera except in the optional augmented-reality view, and those images are never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
App service providers
- Supabase hosts our database and handles anonymous sign-in. Privacy policy.
- Mapbox provides maps and walking directions. Privacy policy.
- Apple delivers push notifications if you enable them.
That is the complete list. We use no advertising networks, no analytics SDKs, and no crash-reporting services beyond what Apple provides to all developers.
Deleting your app data
Email hello@ververeality.com and we will delete everything associated with your account. Because accounts are anonymous, we may ask you for information shown in the app so we can identify the right records. Deleting the app from your device also removes your local data.
This website
The rest of this policy covers ververeality.com, where you can sign up to be notified about the app.
Information we collect on the website
- Email addresses you give us. When you submit our signup form, we collect the email address you provide so we can notify you about Verve's launch. This is the only personal information we actively collect on this website.
- Standard server logs. Our web host may record standard request data (IP address, user agent, time of access) for operational and security purposes. We do not use these logs for marketing.
How we use your email
We use the email address you submit for one purpose: to notify you when Verve becomes available, and occasionally to share material progress updates. We will not:
- Sell your email address.
- Share it with advertisers.
- Send marketing for products unrelated to Verve.
Website service providers
We use third-party services to operate this website. Currently:
- Formspree receives and stores email submissions on our behalf.
These providers act on our instructions and are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable law.
Website cookies and analytics
This website does not use marketing cookies or third-party analytics at this time. If we add privacy-respecting analytics later, we'll update this policy.
Your choices
You can ask us to remove your email from our list at any time by emailing hello@ververeality.com. We'll remove it promptly.
Children
Verve is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. If we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated more prominently.
